650 housing units are planned for the Cleanaway Depot site in St James' Road 21 of these are planned to be "affordable". A new depot is currently being constructed next to the sewage works on the industrial estate.

The land at the end of Goods Station Road is currently being cleared to make way for new housing. According to TWBC, 29 of these will be for rent and shared ownership.
